Per Kværne: The Tibetan Bön Religion and the Construction of an Alternative National Identity
Srdečně zveme na přednášku předního tibetanisty a religionisty. Per Kværne působil dlouhodobě jako profesor religionistiky na Univerzitě v Oslu a také jako předseda Institutu pro komparativní výzkum lidských kultur. Proslul svou knihou o buddhistických tantrických písních (An Anthology of Buddhist Tantric Songs) i množstvím novátorských prací věnovaných tibetské náboženské tradici bönu (např. The Bön Religion of Tibet: The Iconography of a Living Tradition, Tibet Bon Religion: A Death Ritual of the Tibetan Bonpos). Mj. je však i autorem publikací věnovaných evropskému umění.

The substance of this talk would be the concept of a "Zhangzhung kingdom" the existence of which I will question. It has nevertheless become a key issue in the construction of a "Bön" Tibetan nation identity, and seems to be taken for granted by others as well.
